Shortly after arriving at the Helsinki airport, we headed to Finnair Premium lounge which could be accessed by Finnair Plus Platinum/Gold or Oneworld Emerald members. I was Oneworld Emerald (AA EXP) at that time.
The lounge itself was not huge but offered lots of seats. It was divided into different sections: dining, working, relaxing etc.
The buffet located right next to the entrance. There was a cold section like salad, appetizer, cakes, smoothie and one could order hot dishes directly at the counter. Everything I had was delious; the salad was fresh, crunchy, slightly vinegary and the beef was tender and flavourful.
We left the lounge 30 minutes before the boarding was announced.
Thank my status, we could reserve the economy comfort free of charge. The seat (21A) was quite comfortable which came with extra amenities like headphones, toothbrush, eye masks and socks.
Soon after takeoff, the FA offered us a glass of champagne prior the dinner service.
I had chicken in dark sauce with rice as main which was decent.
Between meal services, there was a small station set up at the rear with water, juices, chocolates and pretzel chips.
About 2 hours before landing, breakfast was served. It consisted of cheese omelette, chicken sausage and potato rösti as well as cheese roll, yoghurt and packaged orange juice.
We arrived half an hour ahead of schedule at the Chongqing airport.
All in all, it was a pleasant flight. The seat was good, the flight attendants were cheerful, the meals were delightful; we were happy as a clam.
